The day marks the first US Army parachute jump on 16 Aug 1940: today, as then, we stand ready to jump into action together.

18 years ago, 20th Aug 2006, Cpl Bryan Budd VC of A Company 3 PARA was killed in action in the Sangin district centre, Afghanistan. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for two seperate actions during that tour of duty. He was a phenomenal leader and inspiration to his soldiers.
