Benching a geforce 4 4200 on a Viao that was missing it gpu. The 4200 will now live in this machine. The other viao I had contained a radeon 9200. Comparing them for speed, though the answer is probably a foregone conclusion🤔

I never thought to see this again. Buy an ancient retro pc mag and find a whinging letter I wrote in to them 22 years ago😁

Radeon 9100, part of the low end 9x series. A rebadged 8500le, another low end card that beat the geforce 3 and the ti500 in some cases with a bit of tweaking. Competitor to the geforce 4mx which it annialated, nvidea release the ti4200 for low end gaming and phase out the mx.

Aquanox, I got this because reading an interview with nvidea head of engineering in an old mag. He said this is the game to get if you want to see what the gforce 3 can really do and uses all of the cards bells and whistles.

I didn't need another geforce 2mx but a cheap boxed one was hard to resist. I like boxes. Manual and adapters are in there but no driver disk😔

A couple of years ago I got a gaming laptop and havent done anything to my old desktop for years! This nice zalman case still has a floppy drive bay! Still am4 but tomorrow it gets a ryzen 9 5900x, an rx7900xt and a 34" 2k monitor. Replacing a 3700x and a 1080ti, +rgb bling🤔😁

Recently got rebel assault 2 big box, but then couldn't live with my budget version of 1, so had to get that again in non-white box guise 🤔

Something modern instead of retro. Am4, the platform that refuses to die. First upgrade to my desktop rig in years is complete. Not cutting edge but should do for a good few years more.

Recently saved Time k6-2 gets some aoftware it would have come with. Another pack on the way. Disks are jumbled so after some haggling, got the price down. Time were generous. Many good games along with educational and productivity stuff. Incoming, tomb raider iii among others.

An evergreen upgrade cpu😁 not then flashy expensive ones. Idt winchip 200 mmx for socket 5/7. Single voltage so no regulators but pins have been removed. I guess to do with the multiplier, this is 3x. Still will be fun to see how it compares to the max cpus on non mmx boards.

The standard pack has arrived. A couple of missing disks but an almost complete software suite to go with my Time k6-2. They even threw in a sealed pack of time floppies.

I think I just scored an IBM ps/2 on facebook market place😮 One of the 386 mca ones. I'll probabably spend the rest of my life looking for an affordable soundcard for it but excited to get a real old IBM😁
