Spring 2021:

- MDE is concerned Feeding Our Future might be committing criminal fraud & contacts the FBI.

- AGO meets with the FBI on a regular basis & cooperates fully with the investigation.

- The FBI repeatedly made it clear: Do NOT talk about the investigation.

Why did MDE and the AGO tell the FBI?

The federal government has criminal jurisdiction over fraud involving federal programs.

MDE and the AGO are state government agencies.

State government does not have federal criminal jurisdiction over federal programs.

Why not talk about the investigation?

True cooperation w/ law enforcement is not compromising the integrity of the investigation by scoring political points by revealing it or getting in the way of it.

That would tip off the perpetrators & stop the investigation in its tracks.

April 2021:

- MDE issues Feeding Our Future a serious deficiency

- MDE issues Feeding Our Future a stop pay to allow MDE to check the legitimacy of Feeding Our Future’s claims before paying them.

- Feeding Our Future goes to court right away to force MDE to lift the stop pay.

The MDE and AGO didn't pursue the stop-pay through legal channels because that risked having to disclose to Feeding Our Future MDE’s report of suspected fraud to the FBI and the subsequent federal criminal investigation.

No FBI investigation, no indictments.

June 2021:

The Court found MDE in contempt of court for not processing Feeding Our Future’s applications to open more food sites.

Many of which we now know were fraudulent.

Four federal law-enforcement agencies had hundreds of agents investigating for many months, collecting evidence of fraud across multiple continents.

And their work is still ongoing.

During the entire investigation, the AGO and MDE fully cooperated with the FBI.

September 2022:

U.S. Attorney Andy Luger announces the indictment of 48 people, notably inc. Feeding Our Future founder Aimee Bock, for alleged fraud of $250 million.

The FBI praises the State's cooperation & their continued transparency throughout the investigation.

The indictments are a direct result of MDE and the AGO tipping off the FBI and fully cooperating for months during the investigation.

State and Federal gov't worked hand-in-hand together to successfully hold Feeding Our Future accountable.

There's more. The AGO is the chief civil regulator of charities in MN.

We asked a Dakota County court to supervise Feeding Our Future’s dissolution.

The AGO won and took away Feeding Our Future’s founder Aimee Bock — the ringleader of the alleged fraud —control of assets.
