𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘩 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 is the 17th annual exhibition by the ANBG Botanic Art Group. This year’s theme features art that evokes fragrances from boronia, lemon myrtle and flannel flowers among many others.

This month's Storytime theme is Brilliant Bilbies! Hop along to the Gardens at 10:00am tomorrow for stories and songs about this cuddly native critter, burrow into some craft activities, and take home your own bilby mask. Book now: brnw.ch/21wIuAi

The beautiful Chequered Cuckoo Bee, 𝘛𝘩𝘺𝘳𝘦𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘦𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴, has been spotted around the Gardens recently. Cuckoo Bees are 'kleptoparasites', laying eggs in the nests of other native bees.

Threatened species 𝘈𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢, Slender Parrot Pea, is thriving in our nursery! No wild seed could be collected, so these nursery plants are providing seed to the National Seed Bank for research. brnw.ch/21wHDZK

Purple Loosestrife, 𝘓𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘶𝘮 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢, is common throughout SE Australia, growing happily in swampy areas and around waterways. Its pretty purple flowers are a favourite with pollinators like Blue Banded Bees 💙🐝

They may be stunning to look at, but the bright, iridescent colours of Forester moths (Zygaenidae family) are actually a warning. Why? Because these tiny beauties produce cyanide within their bodies, making them toxic to any animal that tries to eat them!

Australian daisies can be found from desert to alpine country, with growth forms varying from tiny annuals to trees.
