The beautiful Chequered Cuckoo Bee, ๐๐ฉ๐บ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ด ๐ค๐ข๐ฆ๐ณ๐ถ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ค๐ต๐ข๐ต๐ถ๐ด, has been spotted around the Gardens recently. Cuckoo Bees are 'kleptoparasites', laying eggs in the nests of other native bees.

Purple Loosestrife, ๐๐บ๐ต๐ฉ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ด๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ณ๐ช๐ข, is common throughout SE Australia, growing happily in swampy areas and around waterways. Its pretty purple flowers are a favourite with pollinators like Blue Banded Bees ๐๐
