Interesting to find a memorial within the Commonwealth War Graves plot to a number of Belgian soldiers who died of their wounds at the nearby 5th Northern General Hospital, Leicester. Very sad to see that one of the soldiers is unidentified. 🇧🇪 📍Leicester (Welford Road) Cemetery

In late Aug 1940 the pressure was building on the RAF Here is Brian ‘Sandy’ Lane, commanding 19 Squadron, only 23 years old Men like him were going into combat up to 5 times a day. The fatigue was telling Here’s the final episode of my podcast series: podfollow.com/dan-snows-hist…

A CWGC headstone has been installed at Willesden New Cemetery in London for a #WWII casualty previously commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial. The personal inscription was chosen by the casualty's niece.

These are two memorials which have recently arrived with the project. Westcotes Congregational WW1 and WW2. We have very little information about either, or the church itself, so any help would be appreciated... #Leicester BBC Leicester LeicestershireLive
