I went out with Severn Trent River Ranger team on the Derwent to see how they test the water for traces of ammonia, indicating a potentially harmful environment. They have a digital system to report issues to the Environment Agency, taking their responsibility as a water supplier seriously.

Derby is a creative city and today I had the opportunity to speak at the TikTok UK Creative Academy about the importance of developing creative skills for young people.

I saw some amazing classes going on for skills like music production, breakdancing, and songwriting.

We were among the first to sign the Global Cooling Pledge - and now others must do the same.

Great to join industry experts and academics with Innovate UK Business Connect at Policy Connect's roundtable yesterday to discuss the next steps in keeping the global 1.5C climate target alive. 🌍

Thrilled to meet Rufus Boyd Director of the GBR Transition Team yesterday at the Rail Forum Parli Reception. 🚂

It was great to hear how the organisation is making great progress here in Derby and that work is underway at pace to find a permanent office. 🏢

Space-based solar power could provide energy round the clock, drive down household bills and support thousands of British jobs.
 
Today's further funding for Space Solar will ensure we continue to spearhead an innovative industry that has a huge, even astronomical potential.

Funding in principle has been secured for an order of 5 further Elizabeth Line trains.

After many months of constructive discussions I am pleased we are a significant step closer to a solution.

I know this will be a very welcome news across Derby North.
