Today, we highlight Cecil Mosqueda,  one of the original members of the Chicano Squad who often known as the talker of the group. His fellow squad members jokingly say to let him speak last because he can go on — but who could blame him when he was part of such an amazing group?!

Today, we honor Raymond Gonzales, one of the original members of the Chicano Squad. Like many of his fellow squad members, Raymond never expected the unit to be acknowledged after 45 years. He shared that his greatest pride is his family, a sentiment echoed by many in the squad.

You'll hear about his sacrifices and the rest of the Chicano Squad working long days and hours. He reflected, "I ignored my family for years, worrying about other people's families."

Today Comm’r Adrian Garcia welcomed policymakers, local officials, & other stakeholders to the Houston Reentry Convening at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Throughout his career, Comm’r has championed access to mental health services & working across agencies to reduce recidivism.

This also means helping previously incarcerated individuals find good jobs and housing. Thank you to the US Dept of Labor Women’s Bureau and UH Clear Lake for hosting!
