It’s 2024. We should absolutely be supporting accredited zoos and aquariums in conservation and education efforts. Especially as the world around us continues to get worse and worse

Fascinated by this TikTok of a woman who ordered a “croissant lamp” of temu and was surprised it had ants crawling all over it on a hot day only to realise it was a real croissant that had been hollowed out and covered in resin

In some cases it’s a straight up violation of internat’l and national laws. Not because of a lack of ethics but because sending many species of animals internationally is a complex maze of geopolitics. That’s a reason internat’l release programs are so relatively rare.

So much this too. When animals are poached and brought into a different country their country of origin can’t accept them back because of the below & it’s unclear if exactly where the animal came from and their health. You have to have special permits to house confiscated animals

Dr. Earyn McGee, Lizard lassoer 🦎 You will never be able to inspire people to conserve land or protect wild animals if they don’t have any connection to those lands and animals. I understand the complexities of this topic I personally feel that there’s a greater good provided by zoos
