Fake ads using Irish politicians have become more sophisticated. A manipulated video of Mary Lou McDonald currently available on Facebook features her promoting some financial investment scheme. The video also includes fake RTÉ footage. Probably made using AI

Another weakness in relying on non-fact-checkers for fact-checking: Many assume intent behind the posts they are attempting to check. And it’s always the intent that confirms their worldview.

Doom-and-gloom narratives in the journalism industry that cherry pick stories of vulture capitalists, job loss and print closures are incomplete or out of date, painting an inaccurate picture of a news and information ecosystem on life support. poynter.org/onpoynt-report/

Checking out ESPN's new AI summaries. Honestly not bad. But, as expected, they cannot provide context outside of the specific game. What does it mean for the Philly Waterdogs' season now that they lost this game? Not sure I like the verb "edged." But a human editor let that go.
