Why should we invest in rehabilitation? It improves lives, but also makes us less dependent on others as we age, so it reduces demand on the system. It saves money too! ⬇️⬇️

Rehabilitation is an essential component of health care for older people. That doesn’t mean “Refer OT/PT”! It means promoting independence with all our actions, while we are looking after that person, whatever the setting. That’s down to ALL of us!

Make it personal! That doesn’t mean we can’t have group sessions, in primary or secondary care (they can be helpful and fun for all involved). But the overview has to be individualised.
