CITiZAN's intertidal archaeology dataset is live!

Almost 6,000 images of archaeological features around England's coast, recorded by our CITiZAN volunteers. Without their work, many of these sites would have vanished with no record.

Happy 🍻🎉

Putting the houses back at Pendinas hillfort yesterday 😉✏️

Recent Archaeoleg Dyfed Archaeology excavations suggest parts of the hillfort were akin to a crowded hill village, with tightly-grouped houses cut into the rocky slope 🛖

The unique Trichtingen torc consists of an iron core with a silver mantel. It’s too large and too heavy for human use (6.7kg), it was rather worn by a wooden cult image.
Dating 2nd/1st c. BC.
