Since Friday, Texas A&M Forest Service has responded to 44 wildfires for 329.6 acres. All but 5 of these wildfires occurred in East Texas where timber litter fuels dried out last week. Rainfall this week will reduce potential for wildfire activity across much of the state.

Yesterday, Texas A&M Forest Service responded to 5 wildfires for 47.7 acres.

Timber litter fuels have dried this week along I-35 and in East Texas. Increased wind speeds will support wildfire activity in these fuels for North, Central and East Texas through Saturday.
