Want to venture a guess when this patient has their AF ablation 😜. Also loved that RA pacing went from 8%->50% and RV pacing went from 54%->2% Can’t wait to see if sham ablation can match this. John Mandrola, MD #ablationissalvation #CardioTwitter #CardioX

Another amazing pattern recognition which should raise suspicions, at the very least, in the novice learner. We know not every IM resident etc wants to do EP, but knowing when to ask the right ? is key. Please read the answer/thought process #MedTwitter #CardioEd UCincinnati IM Residency

Amazing tips for tamponade! Cardiology fellows these are so practical and useful. One final tip. Depending on the chronicity of the effusion, the amount of fluid required to cause tamponade can vary widely. Acute tamponade can occur with ~200cc, chronic can accomodate >1L

I just got an email for a conference focused on “advanced practice practitioners” that “teaches” them about the ins/outs of implantable loop recorders (somewhat related : one class js solely devoted to “racial and gender disparity in cardiac device selection”) Unless something

Excellent editorial commentary by Timothy Markman & Balaram Krishna Hanumanthu for recently published CRAFT Trial long term results by Prof Dhiraj Gupta and colleagues. Pulmonary vein isolation for typical atrial flutter: are we missing the forest for the triggers? rdcu.be/dSn6z #EPeeps

Finally this can be put to rest. Congratulations to the authors for this contribution. PVI improved arrhythmia burden and symptoms more than sham. Only major adverse event was in the sham arm and was unrelated to the procedure. Better late than never.

This is true. Explanted (& re-sterilized) human pacemakers are used in dogs. But you don’t need to die to donate; if an old pacemaker is getting replaced in some cases it can be donated too!

You folks should really wake up to see that CMS is using a subsidiary of United healthcare to design your payment models. This is hiding in plain sight and not a big secret so if you can free yourself from talking about the Stark law there's stuff to learn here.
