One of my students took up my offer to create a podcast instead of a final paper, and it's incredibly rewarding to see students develop multimedia projects AND to see them understand that a podcast has the same rigor as an article or paper!

As a writer it is YOUR job to carve out time to write. There will always be another task. Life doesn’t hand out free time. You must actively carve it out, & protect it. Cord Jefferson said “A good piece of writing can change your fortune.” I hope you find time to change yours.

My new header is a painting by my dad, Benjamin Adwetewa-Badu, which was stolen from Ghana and brought to the USA in 1988. The piece, titled "sika dwa kofi" (translation, the Golden Stool / the Golden Stool born on a Friday), depicts the Asantehene and his court.

The only advice I can give to aspiring book authors is celebrate every step. The proposal, the contract, each chapter draft, the final draft, the copy edits. Be sure to celebrate when the book is only yours, before it’s out into the world of critique or recognition.
