José Buttó allowed the first three batters he faced tonight to score... and didn't cede another run. Another nice job by Butto to settle in during a game. He retired eight of the final nine batters he faced.

Buttó's line: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 89 pitches.

His ERA is 3.00.

Now Pete Alonso snaps an 0-for-17 skid with a two-run double to give the Mets the lead and chase Miles Mikolas from the game.

Brandon Nimmo, still hot as a firecracker. Nimmo just obliterated another baseball, sending this one 440 feet to straightaway center. The fifth-longest homer of Nimmo's career.

When J.D. Martinez struck Willson Contreras on that catcher's interference back in the second inning tonight, it literally broke Contreras' arm. He has a left arm fracture, per the Cardinals.
