India’s Supreme Court has more than 82,000 pending cases despite having 34 judges. Pakistan’s Supreme Court faces 57,181 pending cases with just 17 judges.

Yes, India’s population is 6 times the size of Pakistan’s population. But the number of cases pending before India’s Supreme Court is not even double the number of cases pending in Pakistan’s Supreme Court. Proportionate to population, Pakistan SC has a higher pendency rate.

Results in two small states representing about 7% of the population cannot be taken as any sort of national bellwether. But German politics looks to be heading into uncharted territory nonetheless econ.st/4dHXBUv 👇

While Pakistani Islamic influencers try to turn the public against secularism, Maulana Arshad Madani of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind says "secularism is the only guarantee against sectarianism". See for yourself.

The Nippon Steel deal has become a highly politicized issue, with Kamala Harris vowing that the company should remain domestically owned. William Chou underscores to Shoko Oda and Tsuyoshi Inajima that this is short-term thinking. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
