Today's forced evacuation orders in Rafah are unlawful and alarming.

The areas designated for relocation are devastated, crowded & devoid of key services. There are no assurances of safety or return once hostilities end for those forced to relocate.

The 'evacuation' of Rafah is illegal. There are no 'humanitarian' or 'safe zones.' Civilians are being forcibly displaced to areas totally unsuitable to human habitation. This is a crime against humanity.

The fact that Israel banned Al Jazeera hours before beginning its assault on Rafah is not a coincidence.

To be fair, this is different from Israel's usual tactic of bombing our offices, killing our colleagues or murdering their families.

Israel's Army Radio says forces are pushing Palestinian civilians from Rafah to Khan Yunis + Al-Mawasi. Conditions are horrifying in both, particularly the former, where Isr forces have destroyed >80% of buildings. Aid workers see no way to rebuild the minimal infrastructure...

This is why Israel is shutting down Al Jazeera. They don’t want us to see what they’re going to do in Rafah, the last refuge for Palestinians in Gaza.
