Although there is a lot of global anxiety about Mpox (monkeypox), it is "not the new Covid". Mpox spreads more slowly than Covid-19, generally requiring close contact for transmission. And it can be controlled through standard public health measures supplemented by vaccination.

I have received a few queries asking for clarification on the start date for the NHS flu vaccination campaign this year. For children and pregnant women, flu vaccinations can be given from 1st September. For all other eligible people, the start date is 3rd October.

I encourage my team not to make excessive use of the “Reply to All” function in their email programs. As well as cluttering up people’s inboxes with unnecessary emails and using up their time, inappropriate use of “Reply to All” also results in a higher carbon footprint.
