Malawi is known as the 'warm heart of Africa'. This week, the BEB team saw that displayed right before them. After visiting an institution desperately in need of food, another institution with a bit more resources decided to step in and share their food.

With #OutSystems , BEB built Children First Software — a solution that targets social agencies in countries with large orphan populations to help children find a new home.

Over the past two weeks, the Zambia BEB team has traveled across the country to train children’s homes and register children. They have traveled roughly 2,000 kilometers (1,242 miles) and had the opportunity to train 6 homes and create 51 digital profiles for the children.

September has been an eventful month for BEB! We put on our first-ever fundraising event, attended CAFO Summit, and witnessed the tremendous growth of CFS in Africa.

Association of Orphanage and Home Operators (ASOHON) in Nigeria is one of BEB's newest partnerships whose goal is to support organizations like ours so we can continue to reach the vulnerable children of the world. We are so grateful for partnerships like ASOHON!

In Uganda, the BEB team is actively working to reunify a set of 5 siblings to biological family after spending 9 years in institutional care. With the continued work of CFS and the BEB team in Uganda, these children will soon be returned back to their biological family.

BEB leadership finishes their time in Africa in the country of Tanzania! During their time there, they had meetings with the government to discuss the future of CFS in Tanzania. This trip has truly been ground-breaking as BEB helps pave the way for more children to find a home.

BEB leadership has been in Africa this week! So far their trip has consisted of visiting Congo Brazzaville, Ethiopia, and Nigeria where they conducted meetings with the governments, visited children’s homes, and got to see our BEB Africa team at work. Their last stop is Tanzania.

The BEB Guatemala team met with CNA as they signed an agreement to further the work of CFS in their country. During the same meeting, they had the privilege to meet with one of our board members and partners, Mike Douris, Founder of Orphan Outreach.

Home is not a structure or building, but rather it is within a family with permanency and stability. Home is where we desire every child that is in institutional care to be.

This year, BEB remains focused on the importance of making sure every child is Homeward Bound.

CFS is expanding rapidly across the African continent! The BEB Africa Team is meeting with government partners, training them and NGO staff on CFS, and helping transition paper files to digital profiles for the children under their care.
