BREAKING : David Sherborne, for the claimants, has told the court that News International bosses allegedly set-out to disrupt MPs who were calling for an investigation into the phone hacking scandal

BREAKING : The News International execs were seeking approval from Rupert Murdoch, according to Sherborne, to pursue concealment and destruction of evidence and a deliberate strategy to thwart the police investigation. NGN deny or do not admit wrongdoing.

BREAKING : However, Sherborne also claims that the email referred to executives Will Lewis and Simon Greenberg who had allegedly come up with the strategy to destroy emails.

BREAKING : The email, dated January 2011 - right in the middle of the phone hacking scandal - was about Rupert Murdoch lending his plane to Brooks so that she could go to Davos, the elite World Economic Forum, to make a speech, which his son James Murdoch wanted her to make.

BREAKING : David Sherborne says that the claimants received disclosure around August 2020, including an email from PR guru and Murdoch family in-law Matthew Freud to then News International CEO Rebekah Brooks and vice versa.
