I just wasted a couple minute of my life with silly AI content on YouTube. The images and voice were clearly AI generated - it was a video supposedly about silver medalist Yusuf Dikić of Turkey, but instead of real photos of him doing air pistol, it was a man playing tennis. Ugh

If AI misuse needs to be addressed but we don't want to police or use faulty AI detection', what's next? Step 1 is pedagogy that supports intrinsic motivation. But that's not enough. We need to make it less tempting to use AI. Writing process transparency makes sense.

If you let AI into schools for planning and marking, it will continue layering on and locking schools in. Like Chromebooks helped lock schools in to Google. More layers of automation and more lock-ins. Until schools can't get it out of their pedagogic and administrative systems.
