Delighted to appoint Mete Coban as London’s new Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy.  I'm looking forward to welcoming him to City Hall as we continue our world-leading action to tackle the climate crisis, clean up our air and rivers and grow the green economy.

Day 2 in my new role at City Hall and it was great to meet with the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Miliband. Can’t wait for London, led by Sadiq Khan, to collaborate with the Govt to boost community energy, cut bills, and tackle the climate crisis.

I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend. Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.

There is no excuse for the violent disorder that took place in some parts of the country. While London showed we are united against hate, we can’t be complacent. As part of this - I’ve expanded funding for security training in mosques across the capital.
