It was invigorating to knock on doors alongside MEA Online members this past weekend.
Join me in volunteering this week, whether out on the doors or at home on the phones. mobilize.us/nea/?utm_sourc…
Even as we're days away from this critical election, and we're all so busy, I still have to pause to say... GO Phillies!! #RingTheBell
It was a distinct honor to share a stage with Barack Obama today, for one important purpose: rallying Michiganders for pro-education candidates who need our support on November 8.
As my MEA Online colleagues know well, our students deserve lawmakers who will prioritize them!
It is always a pleasure to join forces with my colleague Randi Weingarten 🇺🇦🇺🇸💪🏿👩🎓. When educators join together, we can do anything. Our members are powerful—that's why we need them in office!
This weekend, I am lucky enough to be in Michigan with Paula #voteeducation22 Herbart and my MEA Online colleagues!
I am more than ready to meet with members, knock on doors, and get out this vote.
Today is #VoteEarlyDay 🗳️ Make a plan to vote early, by mail or in person! educationvotes.nea.org/make-a-plan-to…
What an inspiring conversation—today I interviewed Gayle, an MEA Online retired member, who has remained an active leader and mentor in her school district.
We discussed fighting book bans and censorship, and how retired educators can get involved in local school board races!
True leaders like John Fetterman are priceless. He has rallied for fully funding schools, giving educators professional pay, and getting students the education they deserve. My home state needs a Senator like him—who fights for us every day, from the picket line to the classroom.
Today, I salute my brother, Derrick Johnson, who has served at the helm of the NAACP for five years this month! Congratulations and I look forward to continuing to build community for our educators and our students.
