Delighted to get 127 CLP nominations in my campaign to bring more diversity to Labour’s NEC! 🙌🌹 I’m standing to build on our success in the General Election and ensure our new Labour government transforms lives for the better. Ballots out soon. Vote Anu Prashar & #Lab2Win

It’s really striking how the Corbynite left has migrated to the Greens. The result is a curious coalition between the older and more Nimby environmentalist base, and the new hard left/progressive influx. These are quite different people with quite different politics!

This is so good by David Lammy on why it is the far right that need to integrate and learn what it means to be English. The foreign secretary showing once again that he is one of the most thoughtful and insightful politicians in the country. No wonder he drives right-wingers

This would be a massive loss to ⁦BBC Radio 4 Today⁩. Husain is the best presenter they have had for many years. Her interviewing skill far more valuable on Today than reading autocue on the telly. thetimes.co.uk/article/huw-ed…

These 2 Plymouth rioters have been convicted of 209 previous offences + they told the police they were rioting because immigrants cost the taxpayer too much money. Judge Linford made them work out how much their offending had cost Britain's taxpayers over the last 38 years.👇🏻

Spoke to George Eaton for this piece. When it comes to common ground (rather than centre ground) of public opinion - interventionist on economy, authoritarian on law/order & liberal on issues like gay rights - Starmer’s instincts do seem pretty close. newstatesman.com/politics/labou…

This is one of the major challenges facing the new Labour Government - Britain’s chronic skills shortage. Growth, house building & improved social mobility & cohesion depend on the Government cracking it.

Refreshing that The Guardian, which has contributed to the current backlash against people who are trans, has actually spoken to young trans people & their families about the real life impact of banning puberty blockers.

I hear they are worried that paying nurses and junior doctors fairly might mean there is no money leftover for Michelle Mone and Matt Hancock's pub landlord.

This is excellent from a Transport Secretary ⁦Louise Haigh⁩ who actually gets it: the multiple benefits for the health, wealth & happiness of the nation of making cycling & walking safer & more pleasant, particularly in towns & cities. theguardian.com/politics/artic…

.Kirstie Allsopp I travelled regularly by train in Europe under 16 and then hitched to improve my languages. Some of my best ever experiences. Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea have made a complete fool of themselves again. Completely with you on this, Kirstie Allsopp

Today Ukraine came under a nationwide missile and drone attack from Russia. Four reported killed and more casualties may emerge Unclear why this continues - why can't NATO air defences and planes shoot down incoming missiles and drones? Defensive actions are not escalatory

Uniting Labour. Delivering Change. Labour’s General Election win happened because Keir Starmer changed the party. Now we need to consolidate this result to deliver the change the country desperately needs. When NEC and NPF ballots drop tomorrow, vote #LabourToWin. 🗳️🌹

Fun fact: when John McDonnell joined the Labour Party members didn't elect the leader. He still thought it worth doing though. For the majority of the party's history (until 1983) the party leader had been elected by MPs alone.

Sunak waited 18 months into his premiership before visiting our second most important trading partner & closest European ally, inflicting avoidable damage to the UK’s national interest. Keir has met the German Chancellor five times in two months. 👍🏼 bbc.co.uk/news/live/cz73…

Thatcher suspended arms sales to Israel in 1982, Blair did the same in 2002. UK Government quite right to do so now & arguably should have done months ago. Unlike the previous one, this Government believes in upholding international law.

Exclusive: The cabinet secretary has said the previous Conservative government’s failure to hold a spending review in its final years in office has contributed to uncertainty over the public finances Simon Case made the comment in a letter to Jeremy Hunt, leaked to the BBC

Peter Ricketts (@lordrickettsp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Thanks BBC Radio 4 Today! We also discussed the partial suspension of arms sales. In my view it’s long overdue (I called for it on 1 April after the WCK aid convoy attack). The Gov’t have used the review process set up by Sunak/Cameron. The assessment seems to have been clear. 1/

Ben Bradshaw (@benpbradshaw) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Totally disingenuous of otherwise sensible Andrew Mitchell to criticise Govt for suspending some arms sales to Israel #wato. He would be receiving same legal advice following review he started. Would he have ignored it? Opposition for opposition’s sake won’t aid Tory recovery.
