It’s a sunny day in Westminster! Now heading into the Lords. As duty bishop House of Lords Church of England in Parliament, I lead prayers each day at the start of business Newcastle Diocese (CofE) 🙏
This week Bishop of Newcastle is on duty in the House of Lords. She will be reading prayers in the Chamber to begin each sitting day, and will take part in the business of the House.
Duty week in House of Lords starting off with an early run round St James’ Park! Lots of runners, and prep happening for the London Marathon this weekend. Best wishes to all running esp James Parkes! 🙏🏃♀️Newcastle Diocese (CofE)

Wonderful to take a Confirmation service at the Venerable Bede in Benwell and Scotswood Team Parish Newcastle Diocese (CofE) this morning, with worship in Farsi and English. Grateful for the hospitality and welcome and much prayer for those confirmed today 🙏🏽🥳

Greatly saddened to hear about Sadie’s death today. Here she is with me just a few weeks ago asking me how I was doing after helping at the Holy Cross Fenham pie and peas supper. At 99, an inspiring and deeply compassionate disciple. I’m glad I met her Newcastle Diocese (CofE) 🙏
