The Service used the opportunity to rally the public towards the 15 billion tree growing agenda and to demonstrate  its commitment to the ambitious government agenda, aimed at mitigating adverse climate change effects that have ravaged our nation in the recent past.

H.E President Dr. William Ruto, led a tree growing exercise in Tharaka Nithi County, where 200 tree seedlings were planted. The President was joined by KFS staff, NGAO's, local leadership and community members.

LAUNCH OF LOITOKTOK PFMP AND SIGNING OF MANAGEMENT AGREEMENTS Today Loitoktok in Kajiado County, played host to a colourful event, where there was the signing of the Participatory Forest Managent Plan, (PFMPs).

...to expand the nursery through clearing a section next to the nursery, to increase the number of seedlings being produced. The CCF also touched on the dry land species to be majored in a large scale production.

The Loitoktok Forest station will be facilitated with computers in the near future. He added that if the citizens have a nursery, they should register at the station.

The WWF-Kenya regional chairman Dr. John Kioko and WWF representative Elijah Korir also added that there are people being trained as labourers so as to work on the nursery and to increase the number of seedlings being produced.

He added that there is enough water for the seedlings and they also have dry land species that do not need alot of water to grow. They also added that the WWF has so far supported Loitoktok Forest with almost Ksh 40million to facilitate the ongoing project.

Among those present was Deputy Chief Conservator of Forest, Natural Forest Conservator Beatrice Mbula, Regional Forest Conservator, County Forest Conservator, Assistant Forest Conservator and other Forest Officers.
