Very pleased to see the new Bruckner 4 conducted by Gerd Schaller selected as an Editor's Choice in the September Gramophone. Definitely the finest Bruckner recording I've reviewed during the composer's bicentenary year.

There are few more apocalyptic moments in music than the shattering G minor plus chord of the Libera me in Britten’s War Requiem BBC Proms London Symphony Orchestra Antonio Pappano made it count as did so much resonating through this perfect setting. Pacem. If only.
