So happy to see this EEG study out! ๐Ÿง โšก๏ธ We were surprised to see that, in biasing contexts, the word N1 showed a pattern seemingly inconsistent with a simple predictive coding model

We are excited to share our new article now out in @commsbio: nature.com/articles/s4200โ€ฆ How oscillatory (or โ€œrhythmicโ€) are neuronal oscillations? We developed a new way to measure rhythmicity and found that is well delineated in both brain anatomy and oscillation frequencies!

Some nice memories of Giovanni Di Liberto's visit last week. Giovanni gave a fascinating talk on "Investigating auditory cognition with natural speech and music" in our Friday seminar.

We were lucky to have Adrien Doerig around for a visit last Friday. Adrien presented his work on the alignment of fMRI responses (from the NSD dataset) and LLM embeddings of captions of the natural scenes that participants had seen. Cool stuff!

At #FENS2024? Consider visiting Joana Carvalheiro at her poster (PS03-27AM-198). Herculean effort for our first ever 7T EEG-fMRI work on high-res spatiotemporal dynamics of midbrain salience and value signals.
