National staff and volunteers are on the frontline of humanitarian response.

They must carry out critical and life-saving activities safely and with unimpeded access.

We reiterate - today and every day - that civilians and humanitarians are not a target.

One year since conflict erupted, Sudan is now one of the world's fastest unfolding crises.

More than 8.6 million people – about 16 per cent of the total population of the country – have fled their homes.

Let's silence the guns and give peace a chance.

Monday's Humanitarian Conference in Paris was critical to raising funds and attention for Sudan - a country that has been chronically overlooked and under-resourced.

Thank you to Stéphane Séjourné, @Abaerbock & Janez Lenarčič for hosting and to all donors for their pledges.

The conflict in Sudan has heightened risks of GBV, especially for women and girls.

Children are significantly vulnerable, with a five-fold increase in violations, killings, and recruitment by armed groups.

Urgent action is needed to protect civilians.

One year after war erupted, Sudan is one of the fastest unfolding crises globally.

Food insecurity and malnutrition rates have surged.

Humanitarians developed a Famine Prevention Plan to help mitigate the situation: bit.ly/3Q68wgL

The future of Sudan requires the contributions, participation and vision of all Sudanese.

I will not relent in my calls to silence the guns, and meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people for a peaceful and secure future.

The world is forgetting about the people of Sudan.

Half of the country’s population needs lifesaving assistance.

But they need more than humanitarian support.

They need an end to the bloodshed.

They need peace.

The only path out of this horror is a political solution.

Monday marks one year since the start of fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.

This is more than a conflict between two warring parties.

It is a war being waged on the Sudanese people.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the conflict.

The world is watching. The people of Sudan are watching.

Let this be a time for action.

The humanitarian situation of 602K IDPs, in addition to the host community members in SPLM N AA areas in South Kordofan and Blue Nile is dire; 390K IDPs are nearing catastrophic levels of suffering unless urgent needs are addressed immediately with unconditional access.

In just a few days, the holy month of Ramadan will begin.

Today, during a Security Council meeting on Sudan, I made an appeal to all actors involved in the conflict to honour a Ramadan cessation of hostilities.

It is time to silence the guns and raise the volume for peace.

In , more than 12 million women and girls urgently need humanitarian aid.

When crisis hits, women & girls are disproportionately affected by:

🔹Increased risks of gender-based violence

🔹Loss of livelihood opportunities

🔹Greater food insecurity

Today I was informed that the Sudanese Government would facilitate humanitarian access from Chad through the Tina border crossing.

We are now liaising with relevant authorities and parties so that we can get our humanitarian convoys back on the road.

There is no time to lose.
