🥕Devesh Rai, MD🥕 Worldwide 👩🦰are about 25-30% of #STEMIs and 30-40% of #ACS cases so at least that? Great question and we have to continue to work to enroll women in trials. We know women are LESS LIKELY to enroll historically. #CardsJC CardioNerds Journal Club
CardioNerds Journal Club This finding provides support for use of aspirin (as part of dual antiplatelet therapy) in the earliest periods post PCI. Given findings from other studies evaluating early transition from dual to antiplatelet monotherapy, aspirin (up to 1 month) is beneficial.
Alison L. Bailey, MD CardioNerds CardioNerds Journal Club I agree. The Prasugrel dosing is low and isn't used in the US. In addition, most bleeding was access site bleeding which probably has more to do with the periprocedural antiplatelet and anticoagulant meds than the subacute oral meds. Limiting IIBIIIA, high radial access= ↘️🩸
🥕Devesh Rai, MD🥕 CardioNerds CardioNerds Journal Club I'm certain. I was not familiar with this dose of prasugrel until reading this trial. 3.75 mg seems << than 10 mg though? I'd be interested in hearing Craig Beavers, PharmD, FACC, FAHA, FCCP, BCCP,CACP and Eugene Yang thoughts here. #CardsJC CardioNerds Journal Club
A8. I'm certain. I was not familiar with this dose of prasugrel until reading this trial. 3.75 mg seems << than 10 mg that is the standard dose. I'd be interested in hearing Craig Beavers, PharmD, FACC, FAHA, FCCP, BCCP,CACP and Eugene Yang thoughts here. #CardsJC CardioNerds Journal Club
CardioNerds Journal Club I don't believe that the findings from this study provide support to omit aspirin immediately post PCI. Fortunately, other studies evaluating this (e.g., LEGACY trial [clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05125…]) will help to provide greater insight on this topic.
I was impressed with 93% rate of intravascular imaging. Maybe with excellent stent deployment aspirin is all that is needed? And low-dose prasugrel didn't add anything? Curious to see what super ⭐️think Dr. Deepak L. Bhatt Hany Ragy MIЯVΛƬ #IC Dr Roxana Mehran #CardsJC CardioNerds Journal Club

CardioNerds Journal Club Another practical consideration long term: most of our surgical colleagues are comfortable operating on aspirin. How do they feel operating on SAPT? Will we have to switch SAPT to aspirin then back to SAPT? Look forward to seeing how the science continues to advance. #CardsJC
