We're taxed for driving polluting vehicles, drinking and smoking because it can be harmful and costly to humanity as a collective. But this, you can get away with scot free

Did u know? This is the adorable larva of(I think) the 22-Spotted L'bird. It's SUCH a lovely resident to have in your outside space, because these funky dudes eat aphids, thereby keeping their numbers down & the adults eat plant mildew - how handy is that! 🖤💛 Adult pic,Wiki.

Did u know?....Autumn's here!./ 🍂🍂Your roses will be heavy with hips right now. Leave them on your bushes - for beauty, colour, texture, structure & most importantly, food for wildlife. Birds love 'em. This "prickly pear" is the hip from the rose, Geranium.

Instead of "canaries in the coalmine" we should speak of "seabirds on the skerries": today sees 5 seabirds added to the UK Red List of "Most Concern", inc. Arctic Tern, Great Skua, Great Black-Backed Gull. Miraculous creatures all, sounding their warnings. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Did u know? When I was young,my Grandparent's garden was part vegetable beds, one tiny rose bed & the rest, wild & wooly. Corrugated iron sheets left abandoned, old terracotta pots dotted everywhere & untamed hedges & wildflowers & it was brimming with wildlife! Be more *Grandparent*

Did u know? Sometimes you might want to relocate Giant House Spiders you find inside.Sometimes you might want them to stay inside the house. If you decide to relocate them, make sure it's close to the house where they can seek shelter from pots/windows etc & they'll be just fine.

Did u know? This wonderful "lived-in" state of my Kilmarnock Willow is how plants in our wild spaces should be - nibbled, munched, gnawed & inhabited by small wild friends. This is not something to be sprayed, but something to be celebrated..... Relax & rewild.. 🌍

Seeing a few people posting about swallows gathering – always a time of year I’m not quite ready for. They’re about to undertake a frankly ridiculous journey – tiny slips of things flying to Africa. Africa. Southern Africa, at that. I mean, come on.

Did u know? The gorgeous grasshoppers in my no-mow lawns are usually very shy & will jump away at the drop of a hat, but when they're in the right mood & are enjoying the warmth of your hand, they love being centre stage & you can't move them for love nor money. 😄

Did u know? If your outside space isn't feeding wildlife in some way, then it's not doing its job properly. These are Rose Sawfly larvae. I love the way they stick their bums up in the air as they nibble on rose leaves. #gowild
