Highly productive visit to the National Museum of Wales today with Cathays High School KS4 new arrivals pupils. Exceptional levels of engagement. Active learning at its best. Highlight of the visit was having the opportunity to handle the tooth of both a woolly mammoth & a megalodon.

It was lovely to be able to mark the birthdays of some our Cathays High: New Arrivals pupils this morning. Friday is always good when there is cake to be had and presents to be given. Lots of smiling faces to end the week 🎂.

Our Cathays High School: SRB Cathays High: New Arrivals & Cathays High LST pupils had a great time this morning at Chapter Arts Centre for the annual Into Film Festival. Our young people were great ambassadors for our school community. We look forward to taking part in this event again next year.

Our KS4&5 Cathays High School: SRB pupils & our KS5 Cathays High: New Arrivals groups enjoyed their visit to Chapter Arts Centre today for the annual Into Film Festival. They got to see the award winning anime movie Belle and took part in a Q&A session. The movie generated a lot of good discussion

Thank you to former Cathays High School pupil Hamed Amiri 🧡 for leading a Q&A session on Teams today with KS5AJW & KS5DK2. They really appreciated the opportunity to speak to someone who has been through a similar experience to them. The understanding shown & advice given meant a lot

Congratulations to sixth form new arrivals pupils, Malak & Tahmina. They received a message from Cardiff University yesterday inviting them both to take part in the Step Up Masterclass programme. So well deserved. Huge progress has been made in a such a short space of time.

Our Cathays High: New Arrivals pupils had a great time on their reward trip to the ice rink at Winter Wonderland today. Was very impressed at how quickly they mastered the art of skating. It was an enjoyable way to end the term.
