Waiting excitedly for that email from Catherine Project ... need to know if I'll be getting up at 5AM, or meeting at 9PM on a Friday... My kid started school again today so we know his schedule for the semester, but mine feels unfinished... :)
Gotta sign this guy up for Catherine Project
Prepping for Week #8 of Catherine Project Reading Group on THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS by Farid Ud-din Attar, translated by Dick Davis.
Just found the details of my Catherine Project Life of the Mind Seminar and I'm looking forward to it.
the best email i’ve gotten all week, and perhaps most fitting to receive on Augustine’s feast day❤️🔥🧠 Catherine Project
Thrilled to be accepted into the Life of Mind seminar with Catherine Project St. John's College for next term! Readings include: #Parmenides #Sophocles #Plato #Aristotle #Ptolemy #Lucretius #Descartes #Galileo #JonathanSwift #FlanneryOConnor
And it's Homer for the Catherine Project Fall session! So glad to put my just-received Dr Emily Wilson translation of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘥 to immediate use (alongside my old Fagles, because I've just become accustomed to using multiple translations).
Just got accepted into the Catherine Project reading group covering these two works by Thucydides & Xenophon. It will correspond time wise almost exactly with when these are coming up on my Great Books reading list. I can’t wait!!
I've been accepted Catherine Project Reading Groups 2024—both poetry & prose: Ezra Pound; W.S. Graham; Geoffrey Hill & Don Quixote in Edith Grossman's translation. Gratitude to Project directors, Aschely Cone & Jordan Poymer with special thanks Erik Rostad (Books of Titans). catherineproject.org
I am very excited to start reading The Sagas of the Icelanders with Catherine Project over the next few months. The organization is such a blessing in this dark world.
After a lot of wrangling with timezone confusion (and incredible patience from Catherine Project), I got accepted to a "Life of the Mind" seminar this fall. We'll be reading and discussing all these texts, and I can't wait! So grateful for the existence of this.
