It’s their FIRST counter offer. After 102 days. They waited 102 days to even make ONE counter offer (aka to begin negotiating). Then on day 113, called in the mommies and daddies to yell at the WGA for *checks notes* continuing to negotiate instead of taking their FIRST offer.

The fact that the Wall Street Journal is calling out that the AMPTP wanted to leak these details earlier AND that it’s to “create tension within the union” should tell you everything you need to know about how transparently bad this tactic was.

To reiterate — if AMPTP is publishing these proposals, it’s because they didn’t get a “yes” in the negotiating room, and they believe they can win in the court of public opinion.

They’re wrong. The systemic fixes aren’t in here.

So the vote to ratify the 2023-2026 agreement between the DGA and AMPTP ends a week from Friday and I have decided to vote “no.” I know I have a “rock thrower” POV a lot of the time and I often have to check and re-check that instinct. Like A LOT!

As a proud member of the DGA, I just voted NO on ratifying the agreement with AMPTP. I'm not throwing my colleagues in the WGA and SAG under the bus. No deal with us until they deal with ALL of us. Come on, Team DGA, let's show the f*ck up.
