Louis Sullivan's Union Trust Building in downtown St Louis, built in 1892

Modernization had its wicked way with the Union Trust in the 1920s, changing the entire character of the 1st & 2nd floors. Still, if you peak into the space between it & its neighbor, Henry Ives Cobb's Chemical Building (1896), you can still get a glimpse of what once was.
