Good to see that Great British Energy and The Crown Estate will co-operate to speed up new renewables. We need all the parts of the State to work together, and with the private sector, to increase the pace of deployment. Delivery is key.

Today is a positive step to delivering the Government’s clean power goal, especially after the last auction failed to bring forward offshore wind. But we need a lot more capacity, which means more action on planning and grids as well as ensuring the next auction is bigger still.

Sensible for the UK Government to give itself till after the Budget to respond to our Progress Report. What matters is the pace and ambition of action. We’ve seen that on electricity already, but it needs to extend to heat pumps, EVs, industry, and tree planting.
