Reports today suggest Australia is at risk of blackouts.

Nuclear provides power rain, hail or shine and is guaranteed to be a source of reliable power.

Yet, nuclear power is still BANNED in Australia.

I just read the CSIRO report. Now the title is wrong- its about generation out to 2050 not 2024 and the date of the report is wrong, its May 2024. Shall I now proceed with the economics? Was this internally refereed?

We have a problem with tweets like this. More flights since 1979 and thus the count of air turbulence is greater. However in 41 years this is due to climate change? Credibility?

Hydrogen? I've been researching it and writing for 20 years now. Frankly I don't think people get it. Simple fact is HYDROGEN = WASTE, analogous to the waste from fossil fuel thermal generation and engines that was for years the PET HATE of renewables advocates. But... 1/2

...analogous, NOT 'the same'. How come? With hydrogen it's electricity that's wasted. Electricity doesn't come out of the ground. It must be manufactured. It's a valuable product. Some gurus think RE electricity will be 'too cheap to meter' (familiar expression?). I bet not. 2/2

You can work it out. Australia is now going to set up a company with Govt funds produce steel using hydrogen from renewable energy and iron ore. This will compete with steel from China produced by exporting coal and iron ore to China.
