Learning ten lines or so of German text was challenging, but Mark Williams was right: the impact of the last, hopeful chorale of the St John Passion was greater because we sang it by heart.
After the intensity and cruelty of so many of the choruses, comes this beautiful lullaby. Here's Ruht Wohl from last week's St John Passion concert at St Giles Cripplegate with The Hanover Band Mark Williams and our fantastic soloists youtu.be/_LErpxXqzEQ?si…
Still moved by the experience of singing St John Passion with City of London Choir Mark Williams The Hanover Band last night. Thank you St Giles Cripplegate and Fr Jack Noble for having us. What an extraordinary Evangelist we had in Sam Boden
Such a pleasure to sing John Passion last night, on the 300th anniversary of it’s 1st performance, St Giles Cripplegate w/ City of London Choir The Hanover Band Mark Williams Sam Boden Themba Mvula Augusta Hebbert & Will Frost - what a timeless masterpiece, still as visceral & moving 300 years on!
Emotionally drained and exhilarated in equal parts after last night's St John Passion St Giles Cripplegate under the brilliant direction of Mark Williams. Mark Williams. Huge thanks to our soloists, and to all who joined us in the audience.
Just a few tickets left for tonight's concert St Giles Cripplegate with @thehanoverband Mark Williams Sam Boden Themba Mvula Anna Harvey Augusta Hebbert Florian Störtz @https://www.cityoflondonchoir.org/event-details/st-john-passion
Had fun making this. Thanks to City of London Choir for making me so welcome. Should be a corker of a concert judging by the quality of the sound at the rehearsal. Come along if you’re free. Best music ever sung by a top choir.

What a wonderful evening Cadogan Hall yesterday, with Benjamin Pope and Camilla Kerslake. We loved singing for such an enthusiastic audience. May there indeed be joy to the world this Christmas season.
