What she has forgotten to mention is that we are 2nd worse in infant mortality, and in the top 10 for teen pregnancy. We also have no Pre-K education, and turn down money to feed kids in need. We may birth them, but we sure don't take care of them! So, a weird, and sad, flex.

Those brave babies in Georgia had to drag their teacher’s body out from the hallway back into the classroom and barricade themselves inside while waiting for help and also try and perform trauma care. The teacher died right in front of them waiting for help.

I disagree with Liz Cheney about most things. But she was the 3rd ranking Republican in the House, and she sacrificed her career to take on Trumpism, and I respect that act immensely.

1. The bill would exclude the provision of federal funds — grants, loans, and other funding — from NEPA review. This is huge. Think CHIPS, IIJA, etc — no longer subject to NEPA!

The people who convinced Senator Mike Lee to create his “based” Twitter account were the same people alleged to have “unwittingly” taken Russian disinfo money.

This Tim Murphy piece is an absolute must read if you want to understand the total madness going on in the AZ GOP and their attempt to highjack the election motherjones.com/politics/2024/…

Charge. The. Fucking. Parents. Then unseat every lawmaker who made it easy for this child to kill four people at school with a weapon of war.

Scoop: When Nassau County passed its mask ban, the police department claimed there would be training. But as an information request from NYCLU reveals, there doesn't really appear to be any! New from me at Mother Jones. motherjones.com/criminal-justi…

Solar crushes gas. Solar alone provided 9% more electricity than fossil gas on California's main grid from March 7-September 4, 2024 (30,915 GWh v 28,370 GWh). In 2023 during the same period, fossil gas provided 24% more electricity than did solar (39,865 GWh v 24,033 GWh).

Mass shootings are planned and come with warning signs. Experts have learned a lot about how to prevent them. Read Mark Follman's recent cover story, "Lessons From a Mass Shooter's Mother," a deep dive into an infamous tragedy in a California college town. ow.ly/tT9z50TgZ5K

Let's be clear on what's happening here: A masked person yells at a Jewish CNN journalist that she is taking "millions" from AIPAC, using the money to buy her house(!). This is antisemitic mad-libs, using Israel as a flimsy pretext to try and hound Jews out of the public square.

Calling Trump's remarks at the NY Economics Club incoherent gibberish is not a biased attack. It is a completely rational observation. He did not speak in coherent or complete sentences. And when he did, proposals like (tarriffs - childcare) do not make sense.

Listen to this because it captures Trump’s incoherence, not just his policy incoherence but also his intellectual and verbal incoherence. He promises an outcome but otherwise it’s babble. When Biden bungled answers, I called on him to drop out; the same applies to Trump.
