The best last night was this Ear Moth agg. It's probably been 4 or 5 years since the last one here. Mouse Moth was the only other nfy.

I've just found Mompha epilobiella on some Great Willowherb that had self seeded in the garden. I knew it must be good for something πŸ™‚

Very little of note from the last few traps here, with windy conditions not helping. Centre-barred Sallow (3) was the only nfy last night.

I was surprised how easily we packed the car for the trip to the east coast. Just my boots to get in now 😁 Surely the ladies can't have much? 😬

A 20-minute sky watch at Alport Heights produced 2 Hobby, 2 Red Kite, 3 Buzzard, Kestrel, and 2 Raven. Also, this Field Digger Wasp Mellinus arvensis (or so says Obsidentify).

Final trap from the caravan park (28 of 10). I wanted to move the trap to a better area, but nowhere was secure enough πŸ˜•. Best was Rosy Rustic, but also 2 pristine Red Admirals πŸ’. Bet it would have been good back home πŸ˜ͺ

The best from last night were Brown-spot Pinion nfy, Spruce Carpet (first since May), Dichrorampha acuminatana, and Plutella porrectella. I've a feeling I missed a vitrealis that came towards the trap, but exited over the fence πŸ™„

Return of the native? To be confirmed but looks like Nothris verbascella (Norfolk Snout) a moth last recorded at a single Norfolk site until 1971 then declared extinct in Britain but in our S.Norfolk garden trap this morning & given the amount of Hoary Mullein locally is it back?
