"You don't win by wanting to win... the philosophy is rooted in a shared purpose, a deep understanding of the players' characters - including what motivates them and how they respond to stressful situations - and defined measures of success" bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

A must read by Coach Reed Maltbie. I never considered the impact that one word could have. This book explain which words enhance player performance and which words we need to stay away from. I'll never use the word "don't" again. Especially when playing golf.

Great book by George T. Mumford! Mumford uses sport as a backdrop to explain the importance of meditation and how to apply it. For me, the connection to sport made it easier for me to understand and more enjoyable.

Loved this one by @powellnyt. Sport can bring a community together. When the athletes are kids, it can create an intense environment for the whole team. For most, it’s the highlight of their athletic experience.

Loved this book by Darrin Donnelly. Teaching the benefits of positive thinking and self talk, the book is a narrative set in the baseball minor leagues. This was a nice break from the expository text I have been reading. Great message and great story!

This book Dr. Gary Chapman was recommended by a coach. I wish I read it at the beginning of my career. It changed the way I interact with my players, students, and family. My 17y/o saw the book and shared her love language which is the same as I. It brought us closer together.

Excellent book and a must read for all youth coaches. Linda Flanagan goes over the evolution of community athletics to travel obsession and it's effects on players and parents.
