Fourteen years ago, I was with these brothers (Ken Mbugua and Chris Kiagiri) at a Rezolution Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. We were again together this week at the Proclaim Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. We decided to update the records. Nothing seems to have changed!

I know it was Sunday morning and every pastor should be in his most patient behavior. But when the conductor jumped off the bus to start looking for customers AFTER the traffic lights had already turned green, I lost it. I’m glad the driver ended up leaving his conductor behind!

The Zambia Reformed Conference started yesterday. It was thrilling to see friends from across Zambia and from other African countries e.g. Uganda, Botswana, South Africa, Rwanda, and Namibia. Pr Ronald Kalifungwa gave the keynote address on seeing Christ in all of the Scriptures.

Yesterday, the Zambia Reformed Conference entered its second day. I was at the School of Theology, which is being sponsored in part by the African Christian University School of Divinity. Joel and Mary Beeke arrived as scheduled and Joel preached his first sermon in the evening.

The Zambia Reformed Conference was in its third day yesterday. Apart from the impact of the preaching of God’s word and the refreshing fellowship of the saints, the singing has just been heavenly. I thought of sharing a snippet of it here with you. Enjoy!

Let me say it again, “I want to put this book into the hands of all our (African Christian University) students.” I mean it! Get yourself a copy and you’ll understand why!

The 35th Zambia Reformed Conference ended last night with a packed auditorium and many people seated outside on all sides of the conference hall. Eleven nations were in attendance. Thanks for praying. As for Dr Joel Beeke’s final sermon? Let’s just say heaven came down!

Today, I clock 37 years as KBC pastor. What shall I say to this? “Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee… Morning by morning new mercies I see: All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”

Last year Dr Joel Beeke and I preached at a family conference in RSA. For me, his most memorable address was on family worship. Well…Dr Beeke is preaching that same message at KBC today at our 16.00 hours service. If you are in Lusaka, come and be with us. You’ll thank me later!

What a wonderful evening service we had with Dr Beeke at Kabwata Baptist Church yesterday! He taught on family worship. The message was so practical. It was the second time I was hearing him on this and was so blessed. Check out the sermon on our church website or Facebook page.

“Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11). If we Africans had this nobility, prosperity teachers would have run out of business long ago!

One of my tasks on this trip to Nairobi, Kenya, is that of recording videos based on the book GOD’S DESIGN FOR THE CHURCH. A great and professional team of photographers and videographers were at hand to get the footage. We must now wait for the final product. Watch this space!

Last evening, I was speaking at a Christian writers’ workshop hosted by Ekklesia Afrika at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Nairobi. Also speaking with me was Graham Heslop of The Gospel Coalition Africa. The level of interest in Christian writing that I sensed was very encouraging.

My last afternoon in Kenya yesterday was spent being interviewed on publishing in Africa by Gathuku Kibunga of Africa Speaks. The interview was inside the ACTS bookstore at the Africa International University. I then visited the Mumos and the Musembis in the evening. A great end!

Whereas the Lord Jesus prayed for the unity of the church, Satan works overtime to bring about its fragmentation. Here are 10 ways in which the unwary end up being his tool to that end. If you are guilty of one or more of these, may you amend your ways! crossway.org/articles/10-wa…

Do you remember when this was you coming from school? Your idea of fun was chasing friends. Suddenly your bag opened and all its contents spilt onto the road. And, like this girl, sanity was finally restored. Now, how to explain this as an accident to the teacher the next day!
