The sad thing about Lawrence's failure is that about 90pc of fans, ex players and writers said it was a mistake to have him open ,even before the first Test, it was then even more obvious after the second. He now averages around 27 and may not ever get to play for England, again.

This is the bad side of Bazball, from yesterday, England have acted like morons who think they are playing a minor counties side and just want to get on the golf course asap

I would like some kind of statement from Key/Baz/Pope/Stokes that England are actually motivated by winning and enjoy cricket rather than trying to get a result,be it a win or defeat, in as quick a time as possible.

Why is it ok for Key/Baz/Stokes to ignore The WTC? And why do most English journalists think it's ok for them to do so? Is it only a real tournament if we say so?

In the summer of 2023, England prepared for The Ashes by playing golf, picked an unfit Bairstow to keep +Ali,who hadn't played in four days cricket for years. They didn't win it. Afterwards, they decided to go the other way,and treat every single series as a pre Ashes net session.

Of the idiotic Baz Balls ups, which is the worst Wellington 2023, Edgbaston 2023, Lord's 2023, Rajkot 2024, Ranchi 2024 or The Oval 2024?

Question for Rob Key, Baz and Stokes. Is getting thrashed by Sri Lanka after 3 and a quarter days, in the dark and cold, in September, after prioritising The Hundred ,in August, the best way to save Test Cricket? How many kids will this inspire?

Earlier, I posted something about The World Test Championship+almost every England fan has said it's pointless+not a trophy they'd be interested in winning. Does every country feels that way or is it just us? Seems like India, Aus + NZ are into it. But what about the others?

England have obviously thought more about their squad in Australia in 2025/6 than they have for the tournament of Pakistan, next month. Be interesting to see Woakes swing the Kookaburra in Pakistan, hasn't worked before but he might ,all of sudden to start doing it,aged 35.

England have a lot of players unavailable so I'm being critical, that said, most of us knew this line up was a batter or two ,short. Overton as a specialist batter is a bit peculiar

Cricket Reformation (@cricketref) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Play three specialist batters, lose the game. I think that's the moral of the story. You'd think the selectors would have known that but if they are the same selectors that picked the Pakistan squad then I don't think they know much.

Wickets for Archie Vaughan, another player ahead of Liam Dawson in the England pecking order, now. If he'd done this last month, he'd have been in the England side, possibly as captain.
