This is absolutely extraordinary from a group calling itself Accesible Corstorphine For All. Rather than improving pavements, he suggests people not driving take a half-mile detour. Kids, parents, people using wheelchairs - all expected to detour for the sake of drivers.

The blue route is Manse Road, in the “historic conservation village” that used to have 4000 vehicles a day and that he thinks should be prioritised for cars. The red routes are his suggested alternatives. Don’t forget, the objection to the LTN is that people have to drive further

Worth pointing out that ACE have also repeatedly said that the bus gate was unnecessary because Manse Road was quiet, yet now say it is too busy for children to walk on.

PidginPosting He’s basically saying the street isn’t safe for the residents who LIVE THERE because of the vast number of vehicles that used it 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

PidginPosting Completely illogical One of the main routes to school, hence the lollipop person at the top. "Manse Road will always be busy". "It has very narrow pavements". Wonder how we could improve that? How about a bus gate at school times?

In the very next sentence, just after saying that people should walk an extra half mile or more so people in cars aren’t inconvenienced, he says the best way to reduce traffic is to “make it as easy as possible to get around on foot”

Donald Turvill Hope you ask Kevin Lang to correct the record and apologise for his lapse in memory. Wouldn’t want to mislead the public. (Below tweet and its reply)

Water scarcity in Scotland, really? This week, we released the latest edition of The Geographer magazine themed on water scarcity. Check out one of the articles featured, explaining how across Scotland water scarcity is a real and increasing risk: rsgs.org/blog/water-sca…

Allan If your first reaction is to talk about bikes on a street that should be largely pedestrian you should probably seek help for your #motornormativity.

When the spokesman for ACE was asked by @cllrchasbooth ,at the recent Edinburgh TEC , how he would improve safety to the primary school, 1 suggestion was more lollipop people. There are already FIVE within a mile radius of the primary school.

North Gyler Chas Booth 🇪🇺🇺🇦 Another was. Walking bus… which is only necessary because of the danger from too much traffic travelling at speed on roads near the school… if only there were measures put in place to reduce that traffic closest to the school and slow it down… oh, wait…
