Lovely to see handler Laura with PD Maverick being reunited with his puppy walkers James, Laura and their children at the passing out parade today.

Our special guest today was John and PD Albert popping in to see his younger brother PD Bert on his passing out parade.

The final day of the course at our passing out parade today in the sunshine. Me with PD Bert, Brad with PD Rico, Laura with PD Maverick, and Luke with PD Sid. A lovely day for our puppy walkers, handlers and their families and friends.

PD Bert will be looking forward to seeing his big brother PD Albert at tomorrow’s passing out parade. PD Albert will no longer be the only Giant Schnauzer working as a Police dog in the U.K now that his younger brother PD Bert has graduated

He will stay with me until I find the right handler for him. Our Assessor from A&S Police dog section Alan has already asked about his availability after seeing him perform today.

So proud of PD Bert today & PD’s Maverick & Rico who had to overcome tough tracking conditions because they had cut the grass at Westpoint which together with strong winds made the 45 minute old half mile track really challenging.

TPD Bert has definitely been more hyper than PD Albert was but he does seem to be calming down now. On his distance control he wouldn’t stay in one position because he would try and preempt what was coming next. We seem to have got that sorted. 👍

We worked hard last week preparing for our assessments and dear old Ella lies calmly & patiently in my van watching all the action. She may not have done much bite work but she’s a feisty maid and loves a chance to join in.
