That’s true, the boosters launched separately, retracted their legs, burned for a few seconds and then coasted upwards, eventually joining with the center core in space. -argue-with-crazy

I also love this shot where you can see the supersonic shocks distorting the cloud behind it, and then as it falls into thicker air the steering starts to really change the booster's direction. Shame that low clouds moved in at exactly the wrong moment.

Amazing views, rocket powered camera window cleaning, and a clean touchdown for both boosters! With a much bigger staggered return than I remember making for some views of a booster landing from another booster landing.
