Lu Dort's been phenomenal through 4 games, btw. Has been highly impactful:

12.5 points
4.0 rebounds
1.0 assists
1.5 steals
1.0 blocks
51% FG
39% 3P (4.5 attempts)

I’d guess some of the thought process is that if the Thunder’s pick in 2027 isn’t a late one there’s much bigger issues, y’know?

“Swaps feel more valuable than late picks” hits the nail on the head,

There’s only so much room — the recent trade’s goal was to fill that room with the best players possible by gambling some.

Giving up a first in 2026, but it will be the least valuable between OKC-HOU-LAC, so they’ll still have the upside of landing a top pick,

They also can now swap with LAC in 2027, again adding upside in a potential top pick.

There it is, Thunder lose close to no value to potentially cash in big in 2027, too.

Easy win-win across the board.

Further trade details: The Clippers are sending a 2027 first-round pick swap to Oklahoma City, clearing way for OKC to move a protected 2026 first-round pick to the 76ers, sources said. The Clippers are sending a 2024 and a 2029 second-round pick to the Sixers in the deal too,…

I am not in the camp that a 2030+ Clippers pick would be less valuable than 2026.

I get there’s a little too much mystery that far out — but the way LAC is pushing their chips in now is not going to be easy to come back from, especially with minimal draft assets.

Real ones know that the Thunder are pushing in their chips for the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes by hoping Harden Harden’s before next year

'Funnily enough, Chip [Engelland] was the one that got me into it,'

Josh Giddey on him scoring more in the post this year.

Josh Giddey said he's matured past needing to play good to feel happy with the end result.

'Good game, bad game. You win? You're happy for everybody.'

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and co. beats Detroit pretty convincingly, 124-112.

Your Oklahoma City Thunder are 3-1 on the season.
