Some people wrongly think “to be Ugandan is to be black.”
Ugandans can be of any colour. Also our consulates and embassies abroad often employ locals, it saves alot of money instead of flying Ugandans with their families to foreign countries to work at our embassies. Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Uganda 🇺🇬

Is it the office that is small or the person holding the office who defines the characteristics of an Office? Wadada Michael
I say this my brother Daniel Lutaaya, 'presence is good but presence without impact is worse than absence because it deceives'.

Importers fuel our negative balance of trade.
Maybe we reduce tax on selling Made in Uganda products. That would incentivize them to buy Ugandan made products.

Yes everyone pays a VAT, what URA is saying is that after you Moreen have been billed highly at a certain shop, that shop is not sending your hard earned 18% to URA. Your tax moreen is not reaching, it is not helping the country, it is jst making the owner of that shop very rich.

Kati ono akitegedde.
If everyone pays then I dare a politician to steal our money. Those traders will be on the streets faster than the blink of an eye. Right now, the corrupt are only stealing money of 1,000 Ugandans.
Try stealing money belonging to 41 Million people and see.

Smith Sentongo Daniel Lutaaya Traders, have largely been nonchalant regarding political activism.
Like he says,
EFRIS may enable an otherwise docile sector, push society to a needed critical mass, that can make civil discontent through riots, a loud and effective tool to even threaten legitimacy of govt.

Data from URA Football Club shows that just 1,000 taxpayers contribute over 74.5% of Uganda's total tax revenue. This suggests that the vast majority of businesses in Uganda are not registered for taxes. If only we could have more businesses paying, the country would be very far.
