Hello! In just under TWO WEEKS, my expansive journey through the history of animals, told through the lens of the humble egg, is out. It was a mega-project, both creatively and in terms of research, and I am so proud of it. Lil thread...

This beautiful fossil plant is ~310 million years old. It is very special to me because it is one of the few fossils my mum ever found.

She found this at a site I co-discovered in my hometown of Doncaster. Mum was thrilled to find this little wonder. 💫

My mum tragically passed away four years ago today. Four years. That's so difficult to comprehend. She was the most incredible mum anybody could ask for. Love you, mum.

Give your mum a big hug today. Tell her you love her. Cherish your time together.

Lovely to see so many reconstructions of Ichthyotitan severnensis. Here are just a few of my favourites from the many skilled artists out there, including @joschuaknuppe, torosauruss, x2 by Aberrantologist, @ppaleoartist and by Dominik Hammelsbruch

Excited to see more!

This is the giant skull of Cymbospondylus youngorum Natural History Museum of L.A. County, a massive ichthyosaur from the Triassic of Nevada.

Here, Jimmy Dinosaurs Will Always Be Awesome 🦖 and I are taking measurements of various jaw bones so that we can compare them with Ichthyotitan severnensis.

Wow! Our paper on the giant ichthyosaur has already had over 40,000 views.

This is why science communication and Open Access is so important.

Always great fun being on the BBC Breakfast sofa. Enjoyed chatting with Naga Munchetty & Charlie Stayt about our latest discovery, Ichthyotitan. A giant ichthyosaur.

Love this photo of Charlie playing the ichthyosaur jaw guitar 😆
