It’s pretty special to be home in Saskatoon — along the river I spent my childhood biking and roller blading along, documenting the remarkable story of Humboldt Broncos bus crash survivor Jacob Wassermann.

The two athletes qualified for Team Canada based on their standing on the Official World Golf Rankings at the close of the Olympic qualification period.

My niece, wearing #2, and her Saskatoon all-girls team just defeated the all-boys team from Warman.

And the celebration is on at Jemini Arena. A great game by both teams. Final score: 6-5

Sunday night in Saskatoon and I’m at Jemini Arena watching my niece play in a 3-on-3 championship game.

And every TV around the rinks is showing the Riders vs Ticats game. And most of the locals are glued to the game.

Never change Saskatchewan. It’s good to be home.

Bianca Andreescu turns 24 today. US Open champion. And playing for the Libema Open title right now in her comeback from injury.

STILL ALIVE IN EDMONTON

Good morning sports fans. All is quiet at the Moss Pit outside of Rogers Place in Edmonton the morning after an Oilers 8-1 victory over Florida. It was quite the party here last night.

They’ll gather at least one more time for Game 5 on Tuesday night.

Nearly 11pm in Edmonton and still pretty light out here.
